CartMatrix Privacy Policy

Effective: 2 November 2026 · Applies to the CartMatrix: Product & Pricing Matrix Extractor Chrome extension, version 1.0.0 and later

CartMatrix turns the product listings on the store page you are viewing into a sortable pricing table. It works entirely inside your browser. CartMatrix has no account system and no server, and it sends nothing to its developer. It has no analytics, tracking, advertising or remotely loaded code.

In short

1. Information CartMatrix reads from web pages

CartMatrix's content script runs on the pages you visit, so it can tell when a page lists products. On each page it looks for product information in:

It reads:

All of this is processed locally in your browser. The results are held in memory for that tab only, to show the toolbar badge count, the popup summary and the in-page matrix. The results are never saved to storage and never transmitted to the developer or anyone else.

CartMatrix does not read what you type into forms, passwords, payment details or your browsing history. It does not keep a record of the sites you visit.

2. Information stored on your device

About chrome.storage.sync: CartMatrix keeps a copy of your license status there so Pro follows your Chrome profile to your other computers. If Chrome Sync is turned on, Google syncs this data across the browsers signed in to your Google Account, under Google's Privacy Policy. The developer has no access to it. If Chrome Sync is off, the copy stays on your device. To clear the synced copy, use Remove license from this browser before uninstalling.

3. Network requests

CartMatrix makes no network requests to its developer. These are the only requests it makes:

Full-catalog scan (Pro, only when you click "Start scan")

CartMatrix requests the store's public product feed from the same website you are viewing, one page at a time:

Your browser sends these requests like any other request to that website, including that site's own cookies. The responses are processed in memory in your browser and are not stored or forwarded.

License activation (only when you enter a purchased key and click "Activate")

CartMatrix sends an HTTPS request to Gumroad's license API (https://api.gumroad.com/v2/licenses/verify) containing:

Gumroad replies with whether the key is valid, whether the purchase was refunded or disputed, and how many times the key has been activated.

Like any website, Gumroad also receives standard request information: your IP address and browser type. If you activate from the in-page panel, it also receives the address (origin) of the site that panel is open on. Gumroad handles this under its own privacy policy. The license check runs only at activation, never in the background.

The Chrome Web Store reviewer key is checked offline: the extension contains only its SHA-256 hash, so checking it sends no network request.

Product images

The matrix shows product thumbnails using the image addresses the store publishes. Your browser loads them from the store's servers or its image service, just as it does when you browse the store.

Links you choose to open

These buttons open a website in a new tab only when you click them:

Those websites have their own privacy policies.

4. Purchases

CartMatrix Pro is bought on Gumroad's website, not inside the extension. Gumroad processes your payment. As the seller, the developer receives the order details Gumroad provides to sellers, such as the email address you used at checkout. Those details are used only to deliver your license key, provide support and handle refunds. They are not linked to anything the extension does on your computer.

5. What CartMatrix never does

6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

CartMatrix's use of information received from web pages and Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide CartMatrix's single purpose: showing and exporting the products and prices on the store page you are viewing.

7. Security

8. Children

CartMatrix is a general-purpose shopping and research tool. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

9. Your choices

10. Changes to this policy

If CartMatrix's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the new version is released and the effective date above will change. Any new kind of data handling will also be described in the release notes and, where required, will ask for your consent in the extension.
